X-Men: Apocalypse Rating

Everything they built with First Class and Days of Future Past falls apart here! If you want something more serious than the goofy MCU offerings, you may like this one, just expect more underwhelming character development. On top of that, if you followed this new timeline, you can't escape the question of how these characters never aged in 21 screen years (First Class took place in 1962, Days of Future Past's past in 1973, this one in 1983). Seriously, they even use footage from First Class, which only highlights the insanity. Mystique is the exception due to her mutation, but everyone who's been there from First Class onward needs to get older. All I ask for Dark Phoenix is aging make-up if you're gonna jump to the 90s.
X-Men: Apocalypse, 5/12/18, 81%, B-, 4.5 Stars.
