Jurassic World Rating

In 2015, Jurassic World became one of my all time favorites, and today, it still is. It moves fast, but breathes at the right moments, and there's so much well-done exposition that reveals character backstories, but we're still shown character actions that back up that exposition and just make Chris Pratt even cooler than he already is. On top of that, the story is a great metaphor for Hollywood before the blockbuster age and Hollywood today upping the ante with more CGI and more intense action, with dinosaurs standing in for movies, also making the product placement more natural and in-your-face for all the right reasons. It all looks natural, and the only heavy CGI in the climax feels appropriate and earned. Also, if the action wasn't enough for you, Michael Giacchino's score captures the wonder of these dinosaurs and the horrors of emerging chaos. And unlike those Marvel movies, we get healthier doses of comic relief and clean language. If it weren't for the occasional sight of blood, which is appropriate in its context, I'd call this movie fun for the whole family. I think I'll do a proper analysis of the metaphor before Fallen Kingdom, but until then, do what life does, and find a way to see this movie (legally).
Jurassic World, 6/2/18, 100%, A+, 5 Stars.
